Civitina (Tina) Riccio

Cohoes NY Civitina (Tina) Riccio, 82, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday March 21, 2015. Tina was born on June 25, 1932 in Rochester NY, the daughter of late Eugenia and Alexander Colaruotolo. She lived and raised her family in Cohoes with her husband Anthony (Tony) Riccio. Tina (Grammy) is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Tony (Pop) Riccio, her daughters: Angela (Tom) Husser and the late, Mary Riccio-LaCoss, her sons Tony (Cathy) Riccio and Rick (Donna) Riccio. Grammy leaves with adoration, her pride and joy, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: Brad (Rachel) Husser and daughter Nora, Jennifer (Michael) Rushing and daughter Aisley, Katelyn (Matt) Blanchard, Alex LaCoss, Emily LaCoss, Megan LaCoss, Michael Riccio, McKenzie Riccio, David Riccio and Matthew Riccio. Tina is the cherished sister of 10 siblings: the late, Carmella Carnibucci, Mary Forsythe, Jean Campociaro, Alice Grilli, Josephine Turcotte, Angelo Colaruotolo; and those surviving, Fran Ditucci, Frank (Doris) Colaruotolo, Donny (Loretta) Colaruotolo and Rosemarie DiTucci. Tina was a self-employed hairdresser with her sisters at Jean's Beauty Salon for many years and then later in her home in Cohoes. She was an active member of Sacred Heart/ St. Rita's parish. Through example Tina taught all those around her of the importance of family, kindness and the value of hard work. She was known for her fun-loving, silly nature and her incredible talent in the kitchen. Tina was loved by so many and will greatly missed as it was her nature to give generously to all those around her. Services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Marra Funeral Home, 246 Remsen Street, Cohoes at 10:00 a.m. and then to St Michaels church, 36 Page Avenue, Cohoes where Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 4 to 8pm at Marra Funeral home in Cohoes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation or The Hoosick Falls Health Center at 21 Danforth St. Hoosick Falls NY, in memory of Tina Riccio. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Majorie Doyle Rockwell Center and the Hoosick Falls Health Center, who took special care of Tina as she battled the Alzheimer's disease.
