Marc Norman Fisher

Marc Norman Fisher was born in Syracuse, N.Y. on December 21, 1990 and passed away at 32 years of age on February 23, 2023 in Troy, N.Y. He was raised in Cohoes, N.Y. and then later in Lansingburgh, N.Y. He was the son of Marc L. Fisher and Roslyn A. Davis-Fisher. He is survived by his uncles and aunts. Donna Kirby, David Kirby, Bernice Kirby, Michael Davis (Helena), Carla Gill-Baptiste (Ernest), Molly Ann aka Girly Gill and son Tyler Gill-Pierre, Molly Ana aka Sisa Gill-John (Anthony), Francis Gill and daughter Shania, Candace Toppin, Debra Cyrus and daughter and grandson, Andrew Fisher, David Fisher (Isabel Berkelhammer), Sharon Fisher (Ronald Lee), and his great-aunt Cora Straker and her family. He is also survived by his cousins, of whom he spent much time growing up with. Miguel Davis (Lisa) and children Faithlynn and Jaxen, Carla Davis, Kevin Edwards (Natalie) and son Adonis, Byron Edwards (Shannel) and son Noah, Derik Pot (Silvia Briga), Kyle Pot, Philip Fisher, Keatan Fisher, Alisha Swietzer (Corey), Nathan Fisher, Lauran Fisher (Michael Dickstein), Kamaran Fisher (Shelby), and close family friends Cheryl Sealey and Josephine Francois. He is predeceased by his grandparents Carl Gill, Kenneth and Evena Kirby, and Norman and Karine Fisher. Marc, affectionately called Marci by his family, graduated from Oakwood Christian School as class valedictorian in 2009. He obtained an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Hudson Valley Community College, making the dean’s list. He served in the United States Air Force and worked in the computer technology and criminal justice fields. Marc also liked to travel. He visited family in Trinidad and Tobago, went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, and went to France. He visited Israel with family and was acquainted with friends there as well. He often traveled to Syracuse and Brooklyn, N.Y. to visit his grandmothers whom he loved very, very much. He loved his family’s West Indian cooking. If he was on his way to see his grandma in Brooklyn, she would often have roti and hot cocoa ready for him. He loved his auntie’s cooking too- especially the curry chicken and macaroni pie. He enjoyed all the good West Indian foods like Peardrax drink and caramels. He was deeply loved and is dearly missed, it does not seem real. In the words of his Auntie Donna “he was a very funny person.” He was a nice and loveable person, easy-going, and very caring. He was helpful and if his family or friends had a need, he would always try to help them. Marc was a delight to be around. When he walked into a room he brought a light to the atmosphere that made people happy. May he forever rest in God’s eternal peace. The wake will begin at 11 a.m., services to follow at 12:00pm, on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Victory Church Colonie located at 1312 Central Avenue, Albany, N.Y., 12205 between Hudson Avenue and Van Buren Avenue.
