Guilderland, NY It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stefanie Simpson, a truly special person who touched the hearts of so many. Stefanie was cared for by many, and her presence brought warmth and happiness to everyone fortunate enough to know and care for her. She had a way of leaving a lasting impression on the people around her, and the love that surrounded her throughout her life is a reflection of just how special she truly was. In 1998, Stefanie moved into the Center for Disability Services White Church residence, where she became part of a community that would be her home for many years. In 2025, she moved to the Nott Road residence, beginning a new chapter surrounded by familiar caregivers and people who loved and cared for her. Stefanie also enjoyed participating in day program. She attended the Brunswick Center Day Program for many years, and when she moved to Nott Road, she transitioned to the 314 Day Program. These programs became an important part of her daily life, giving her opportunities to stay active, enjoy familiar routines, and spend time with people who became an important part of her world. One of Stefanie’s greatest joys was music. Music could brighten her day, bring her comfort, and fill the room with happiness. It was an important part of who she was, and those who knew her will always remember the joy she found in listening to the songs she loved. Stefanie was more than someone we cared for—she became family. Her smile, her personality, her routines, and the little moments shared with her became meaningful parts of our lives. Her passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully describe, especially for those who spent their days with her. Although saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, we will hold tightly to the memories we created with Stefanie. We will remember the music, the smiles, the laughter, the familiar routines, and all of the moments—both big and small—that made her uniquely Stefanie. May Stefanie rest peacefully, surrounded by the same love that surrounded her throughout her life. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 18,2026 at 1pm from the Marra Funeral Home. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery Brunswick. Calling hours at Tuesday from 11-1 prior to services.
