Frank A. Valenti Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cohoes, NY Frank A. Valenti Jr., lifetime resident of Cohoes, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Frank was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Allison) Valenti and his father, Frank Valenti Sr. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Rose (Rosie) Valenti, his brother, James Valenti Sr. and sisters Patricia Karch and Mari Primeau. He leaves five children: Michael Valenti Sr. (Beth) of Matthews, Va., Frank Valenti III (Robin) of Wynantskill, Greg Valenti of Norfolk, Va., Nick Valenti Sr. (Lisa) of Troy and Tina Valenti Arnold (Jerry) of Cohoes. Grandchildren include: Michael Valenti, Christina Valenti Skinnerup, Nicole Valenti, Brenda Mackey Muller, Gina Valenti Arana, Marissa Valenti, Nick Valenti Jr., Tiffany Valenti, Corrie Valenti Grosso, Jenna Valenti Kehl, Ricky Borecki, Andrea Borecki Bonhomme and James Rush. He had eleven great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother John (Linda) Valenti of Crown Point. Frank was a retired detective captain of Cohoes Police having served from 1960-1984. He was also a certified polygraph examiner. After retiring from the Cohoes Police, he was chief investigator for Albany County District Attorney's office. He was a well loved and respected member of the community. An avid history buff, Frank was a collector of Civil War artifacts. He also enjoyed traveling and visiting special friends and family in Mobile, Alabama as well as in Florida and New Orleans. Calling hours will be held at Marra Funeral Home at 246 Remsen St., Cohoes on Tuesday January 18, 2022 from 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following. The interment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for Frank's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
