Jeanette Gradoni, formally of Cohoes , N.Y. died March 7th, 2016 at the age of 103 in Houston, Texas. In 1975, after the death of her husband, Jeanette moved to Houston Texas to help her son, James Gradoni, raise her grandson, Anthony Gradoni. Jeanette was always very active, having been the extended care supervisor for St. Pius elementary school in Pasadena, Texas for many years. After her 80th birthday, Jeanette moved to northwest Houston to be closer to her son, James. Jeanette maintained her apartment, living independently, until her 100th birthday. At the time of her death, Jeanette was a resident of Villa Toscana nursing home. Jeanette was an avid Yankees fan, loved to cook her favorite Italian dishes and was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed her last years spending time with her three great grand children Kaitlyn, Nikko and Shayla. Jeanette was always quick to comment; her mental capacity never diminished. She was the favorite of the entire staff at Villa Toscana. In May 2015, at the age of 102, Jeanette won the wheel chair race at the nursing home. Jeanette lived every day with a positive attitude and was the foundation of her family’s strength and core values. Jeanette is survived by her son James, daughter in law Gina, Grandson Anthony, great grand kids Kaitlyn, Nicholas and Shayla, along with her nephew Anthony Dechiro, niece Louis Phillips, second nephews Paul and Mark Dechiro. Funeral services will be held Monday March 14, 2016 at 1pm from St. Mary’s Church Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Waterford. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-6pm at the Marra Funeral Home.
