Ronald R. Scott

Clifton Park, NY Ronald R. Scott, 88, died January 14, 2022. Born in Albuquerque New Mexico he lived most of his life in the Capital District and was son of the late Melvin and Deloris Scott. He graduated from Watervliet High School class of 1953 and served his country in the US Army during the Korean War as a mechanic in charge of the motor pool. Ronald later was a self employed mechanic, race car driver and builder. He won several NHRA drag racing events and held multiple NHRA records. Ron was known as “Mr. AA/A” and was the first driver to dip into the sevens with a 7.98 qualifying pass at 168 mph. He was an avid fisherman, New York Yankee fan and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years Adele DelRa Scott. Father of Cyndi (Larry) Jones, Rhonda (Earl) LaBounty, Colby Scott and Gary (Colleen) Scott. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family there are no calling hours. Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors.
