Adela B. Cormie

North Las Vegas, Nevada Adela B. (Obuch) Cormie, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Adela was born July 19, 1938 in Cohoes, NY at Cohoes Hospital to John and Appalonia (Pauline) Obuch. She attended Cohoes Highschool in New York and graduated as valedictorian of her class. She then went on to pursue a career with the New York Telephone Company and was a loyal employee for 25 years until her retirement in 1987. She was happily married in Las Vegas on 10/19/1963 to the love of her life Richard James Cormie Sr for 57 years and together they raised 4 loving children in Cohoes, NY to be strong, independent and to live life to the fullest. Del and Jim moved to Las Vegas in 1993 to enjoy and live a life of retirement. Adela was known for being a strong, intelligent woman who always lived in the present. She enjoyed bowling with friends and family and collecting coupons. Her outgoing and energetic spirit will be missed by all. Adela is survived by her three sons Jeffrey Scott Cormie, Richard J. Cormie Jr, Lance Michael Cormie; and daughter Leigh Maureen LaPlante (Cormie). She is survived by 12 grandchildren; Zachary Francis LaPlante, Andrew James LaPlante, and Joshua Leigh LaPlante (Children of Leigh Maureen LaPlante (Cormie) and Francis George LaPlante Jr.); Tayler Lee Prater (Cormie) and Steven Dakota Cormie (Children of Jeffrey Scott Cormie and Renee Marie Cormie (LePage); Sean Patrick Cormie, Kaliah Bree Cormie, Kevin James Cormie, Chloe Elizabeth Cormie, Kendra Adela Cormie and Ava Jacklyn Cormie, (Children of Richard James Cormie Jr & Heather Marie Castro); Jonah Michael Cormie (Child of Father is Lance Michael Cormie), and great granddaughter Audrianna Rose Prater (Child of Tayler Lee Prater (Cormie) & Anthony Allen Prater Jr.) Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service’s on August 6, 2021 at 11:00am at the Gerald B.H Solomon Saratoga National Ceremony for Adela and Richard, who sadly passed away peacefully 2 months apart. Family and Friends are also invited to a gathering after the ceremony at Lance Cormie's house at 12 School Rd, Johnsonville, NY 12094, after services.
