Daniel Patrick Gregory

Cohoes, NY Daniel Patrick Gregory, 65, passed away unexpectedly December 25, 2025 at home. A lifelong resident of Cohoes he was the son of Edward Gregory and the late Mary Elaine Rosecrans. Daniel is survived by his companion of 15 years and love of his life Lesleigh Rushford. A 1978 graduate of the former Keveny Memorial Academy Cohoes New York. He went on to work for the New York State child support unit in Albany New York then went on to became the pizza maker for his brother John and Mary`s pizza place formerly in Cohoes and ending his career at Stanley Steamer working alongside his Uncle. He enjoyed playing the horses and going to the Saratoga racetrack meeting with Mike and Kelly and his friend John. Daniel was an avid Knicks, Mets and Giants fan. He loved listening to his nephew Korey and his band. Going to OTB and attending as many family parties throughout the year and of the grandchildren’s sporting events and fun time at their house. He loved spending the summer days at the pool whether at his brother's or with the grandchildren. He loved his trips to Daytona Beach with family and friends years before. His most favorite was the time spent at Schroon lake. Danny also known as Waz, exemplified extraordinary kindness through his gentle demeanor. His enduring legacy will continue to inspire and motivate his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Daniel is also survived by his step daughter Jessica Dearstyne (Pat Kane) of Watervilet, Nicole Johnson (Jesse) of Averill Park, Nathan Rushford of Averill Park. He was the proud Poppie to Isabella, Brayden, Madelynn, Evan, Hazel and Abigail. He also leaves behind a sister, Nancy Hytko (Dan), Mary Ellen Gregory, John Gregory (Mary) Edward Gregory (Karen) all of Cohoes New York. Meghann Doiron of South Carolina. Many nieces and nephews and cousins will miss Uncle Danny most especially Josh, Korey and Eli. His Aunt Ann Cummings of Kinderhook, Uncle Clark Gregory (Donna) of Cohoes, Alton Hobbs of Cohoes. He will be missed by Mrs.Jayne Winner, Mike and Kelly, Dean and Carol David, and LuJuan, Darrell and Patty Judie and Dave Bonnie and Peter and Jennifer and John. His beloved cats Lola and Felix. Funeral services will be held Friday 1/2 at 12pm from the Marra Funeral Home. Calling hours are 9am-12pm prior to service’s. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
