Kenneth Larry Fitzpatrick

Cohoes, NY Kenneth Larry Fitzpatrick, {aka Fitzy}, age 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 17, 2026. Born on June 5th 1937 in Schenectady, NY. He was the son of the late James Vernon Fitzpatrick and Mary E. Krosky. Ken graduated from Mt. Pleasant H.S. in 1955. He met and married the love of his life, Carol Marie Stanton, while working at the GE in Schenectady, NY. Ken and Carol eloped to North Carolina, by bus. They were married on June 25, 1956. Ken joined the US Navy in Sept 1956 and was honorably discharged 3 years later. After his service, Ken worked as a draftsman/estimator for the duration of his career. Ken volunteered as a square dance instructor at the O.D. Heck Center in Schenectady. Ken had a great relationship with the kids due to his goofy personality. Ken and Carol treasured many friendships throughout their lifetime. They had many gatherings that included, card parties, square dancing, and gourmet dinners. He had a wonderful sense of humor and sought to make all people around him happy. Ken enjoyed golf, reading, watching wrestling and the old-time westerns and comedies. He was a wonderful impersonator. Some of his best performances were Tarzan, Jerry Lewis, and Tim Conway to name a few. Ken had wonderful moves and could really “cut a rug”. In his last years, the most cherished times were spent with his family. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa to his adoring family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Ken was the husband of the late Carol Marie Fitzpatrick. He was the proud father of Daneen Falconio, Lori (Paul) Marra, Kelly (Camie Barnett) Fitzpatrick, Kenneth (Sherri) Fitzpatrick and Erin Fitzpatrick. Devoted grandfather of Paul (Kaylee) Marra, Johnathan (Nancy) Marra, James LaBarre, Nicole (Keith) Curtin, Kenneth Fitzpatrick, Christopher LaBarre, Shannon Fitzpatrick, Lorin (Griffin) Blanchard, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Michael Fitzpatrick, Tristen Barnett, Bryan Noel, Garrett Noel and Sarah (Joe) Gilbert. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. His family would like to express their deep appreciation for the wonderful care that was given to Ken during his time at Evergreen Nursing & Rehab and most recently at the Eddy Village Green, House 14. Their compassion was truly a blessing and the family will be forever grateful. The family would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Community Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to him in his final days. Their kindness, dedication, and support will never be forgotten. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
