Patrica Anne Bishop

Patrica Anne Bishop (Lenge) passed away peacefully at home with her family, at age 67, on the morning of December 31. She fought a long, hard battle with cancer on and oﬀ since 2019. True to her strength of character, she continued to fight right up until the end of her days. Patty, as friends and family called her, was a lifelong resident of Cohoes, NY. She was born at Cohoes Hospital to loving parents Robert J. Lenge Sr. and Anne Walther Lenge. She was the youngest of three. She spent her childhood and young adult years in her beloved family home on Earl Lynn Court. She graduated Cohoes High Class of 1976, and was known among classmates for being friendly, outgoing, and as many friends recall in her yearbook “the life of the party”. She worked for the City of Cohoes for 20 years, retiring in 2020. Her favorite thing to do was to be in the company of friends and family. She enjoyed going out to see live music on the weekends, and often spent evenings relaxing with family watching movies and television. She spent many summers on Sacandaga Lake with her large circle of friends. She loved to dance, laugh, and was especially known for her natural wit and exceptional sense of humor. Patricia was predeceased by her mother and father (Anne and Robert Lenge) as well as brother Robert “Bobby” Lenge Jr, longtime partner Mike Carey, and lifelong best friend, Judy Trombley. She is survived by her older sister, Debbie (Robert) Gibbins, as well as her daughters, Anne Rose Giancamillo and Valerie (James) Collins. She also leaves behind her nephew, Eric (Karah) Lenge, and nieces, Tara (Joe) Garceau, Bryanna Holdridge, and Felicity Dessingue as well as many cousins. She is survived by her 4 grandchildren who were the light of her life - Owen Clark, Mario Giancamillo, Oscar Louis Giancamillo, and Isla Collins. As she was a well beloved and proud member of the Cohoes community, she will certainly be. missed by many friends and acquaintances, but especially by lifelong friends, Margaret Kehn and Jenny Maloney. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 6th, from 4-7pm at Marra’s Funeral Home and a Catholic Mass will be held in her honor on Wednesday, January 7th at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Church in Cohoes. Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery will be immediately following. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Patty’s life at the Elk’s Club in Cohoes after funeral services conclude. In lieu of flowers or memorial trees, please consider making a donation to a local breast cancer or hospice charity in her memory.
